Forty-two -II-

Welcome back friend, I am glad you are here and I am happy to share tracks 10, 11 and 12 from the Forty-two Album by Marlon Cairenius. For this installment we decided to explore some of Marlon’s musical rarities from the early years.

10. Here I Am Scum (Mp3 / Ogg) was taken from a 1994 demo tape Marlon made using a few toy keyboards and a Boombox. The music here makes me feel like I’m playing a classic video game and I’m getting ready to take out some baddies. This piece was extracted from the original cassette tape back in 2009. Fun fact, Here I Am Scum was written in the key of G minor at a tempo of 120 beats per minute.

11. I Just Found My Way (Mp3 / Ogg) was taken from a 1995 demo tape Marlon made using an Amiga computer with a few toy keyboards, a Boombox and a microphone that was made from an old pair of Headphones. This piece was rescued from the original cassette tape back in 2009. The sound quality is rather poor but I’m happy it still exists today.

12. Bass-Fu (Mp3 / Ogg) was written and recorded back in 1997 and was taken from a 1998 CD-rom R.h.oZ made of Marlon’s music. Bass-fu was made on a computer with an Awe32 sound blaster that had Two megabytes of Ram on it for soundfonts, a VCR, a Midi Keyboard controller and some audio software. The following software used include ‘Goldwave’ from GoldWave Inc, ‘Session’ from midisoft and ‘Vienna’ from Creative Labs.

Thank you for listening and we look forward to your return. The next set of tracks will be available on July 21, 2020.
