Forty-three

Hello friends, welcome back but instead of finding ‘Anthology vol.2’ you’ve found Forty-three tracks by or with Marlon Cairenius. This release builds upon the ‘Forty-two’ release in several ways. I tried to improve the music experience by changing the order of the tracks. I later removed some and adding others in hopes of giving this compilation a face-lift. I began working on this on May 1, 2021 for Marlon’s 43rd Birthday. Just like the ‘Forty-two’ release the ‘Forty-Three’ release doesn’t have any cover art. It does have 43 recordings, although many of them were also on the ‘Forty-two’ release. This time I tried to improve the sound quality of some of the recordings. These recordings came from many different sources which include a cassette found in an old shoe box, an old hard drive, a CD-R Marlon sent me, on a few flash sticks, attached to some old e-mails and on some obscure websites. These recordings were made from 1994 to 2021.

1. Other oR Something (Mp3 / Ogg) was created on May 1st, 2021 by playing ‘Something oR other’ in reverse in Goldwave. I liked how it sounded and I felt it would make a good opening track for this compilation. Later I decided to rename ‘Something oR other’ to ‘Other oR Something’. The original recording was released online in 2009 and was originally titled ‘Something or rother’.

2. 2021 Intro (Mp3 / Ogg) was recorded in 2009 for ‘Carbon Monoxide’ and was later used as an intro to Marlon’s ‘Anthology’ and ‘Forty-two’ releases. This version was created while working on ‘Anthology vol.2’ using Goldwave and Audacity.

3. Old Tunes (2021 Edit) (Mp3 / Ogg) was originally released in 2014 under the the band name ‘M-Castles’. The full version of this recording was included in the ‘Forty-two’ release. This wonderful track has an old industrial dance sound feel. This version is just a shorter version of the original, this was done with a small edit in Goldwave. I cut the track and added a fade at the end with goldwave and I used Audacity to tag and convert it to Ogg.

4. Boyo The Strange echoing Elf (Mp3 / Ogg) is a strange alternate version of ‘Boyo The Elf’ from the ‘Now For Some Marlon’ release. This recording was made from ‘Boyo The Elf’ with Goldwave by mutating the source file. First I tried to remove some of the hiss and clicks in the file ans later I reduce the peaks in the recording. I then doubled the track and shift one of them up one octive but made a point to keep the same time. This gave it a really strange resonance to the recording. I would later speed up the recording by 20 percent and run it through a flanger peddle with it sent to long echo with compression. I converted the file from wav to mp3 with Goldwave and I used Audacity to tag and convert it to Ogg.

5. Public Property (2021 Cut) (Mp3 / Ogg) is a strange deep trip out of your mind and makes me think of the Pink Dots. The original recording was made around 2009 with the spunjet crew. This cut is almost the same except that some of the peaks were reduced in the sound recording and the ending was trimmed just a little. The small edit was done with Goldwave and the conversion to Ogg and tags were done with Audacity.

6. Fragmented Spirit (Mp3 / Ogg) is the second track from Marlon’s 2021 Ep ‘In Spirit’.

7. Jib chant (Mp3 / Ogg) is still such a fun Rocking track. Now track 7 instead of 4, the only change made was the removal of about 2 seconds at the end.

8. What is this? (Mp3 / Ogg) was released in 2013 as part of Spunjet Baby’s ‘The collective Source’ and was also included in the ‘Now For Some Marlon’ release in 2014. Besides the track change from 7 to 8, the only change made to the track was a small edit to the end of the track.

9. Weirder Music (Mp3 / Ogg) sounds like an alternate version from another dimension. The original ‘Weird Music’ was released in 2013 as part of Spunjet Baby’s ‘The collective Source’ and was also included in the ‘Now For Some Marlon’ release in 2014.

10. Dead Air (Mp3 / Ogg) is an R.h.oZ and Marlon collab of ‘Life Goes On Like The Moser Sometimes’ by Marlon. This short demo was recorded a while back in the key of G minor at a tempo of 77 beats per minute. The only change here was the track listing from 9 to 10.

11. epileptic shock (Mp3 / Ogg) is a previously unreleased R.h.oZ collaboration which never got uploaded to Spunjet.

12. Awake, Green Elf Need Food Badly (Mp3 / Ogg) is the 4th track from the 2013 release of ‘Mystery songs 16’ by Marlon Cairenius.

13. Ghost Online (Mp3 / Ogg) is the first track from Marlon’s 2021 Ep ‘In Spirit’.

14. Termite (Mp3 / Ogg) is a classic song from Marlon… All i did with this track was use a little compression to reduce some of the peaks in the recording.

15. Testing…Testing, one two three (Mp3 / Ogg) was made with ‘What You Think’, which is just one of many recordings from Marlon I found in my Inbox over the years. I received this one back in 2014 and I was playing with it in Goldwave on May 1st, 2021 and this odd recording is what came of it.

16. Table Light (Mp3 / Ogg) was recorded back in 2009 with a little inspiration from some old source files.

17. A Beer (bender cut) (Mp3 / Ogg) was made with ‘A Beer’, which is just one of many recordings from Marlon I found in my Inbox over the years. I received this one back in 2015 and I decided to play with it in Goldwave on May 1st, 2021 and this is what I ended up with.

18. Pump That Muscle (Mp3 / Ogg) was recorded in 2011 for the Spunjet release ‘The collective Source’. This track has a classical feel with an outsider spirit in your mind. I really enjoy this unusual piece and for for some reason it makes me feel that time is just ticking away. The only change here from the ‘Forty-two’ version, was that a little was trimmed off the end.

19. The Gravy (Mp3 / Ogg) was recorded back in 2011 for the Spunjet release ‘The collective Source’ and in this release ‘Gold Wave’ was used to help improve the fidelity of the recording. I did this by trying to match and maximize the volume throughout the recording. I cut a very small bit at the end and added a small fade.

20. Said Fred (Mp3 / Ogg) was recorded back in 2011 for the Spunjet release ‘The collective Source’ and in this release ‘Gold Wave’ was used to help improve the fidelity of the recording. This was done by trying to match and maximize the volume throughout the recording. Fades were used throughout the recording to help remove a lot of the background noise and some reverb was added to help cover up the rest.

21. I Open My Eyes And I Can See (Mp3 / Ogg) was renamed from ‘I Open My Eyes And I See’, which was recorded back in 2011 for the Spunjet release ‘The collective Source’. This version of the track was created by running the track with Flanger, which resulted with a recording with a crazy amount of reverb.

22. The Thinking Song (Mp3 / Ogg) was recorded back in 2009 and is a wonderful addition to this compilation.

23. Smell Things (Mp3 / Ogg) was taken from the ‘Now from some Marlon’ soundpool. This recording was added to the soundpool in 2014.

24. Robot N (Mp3 / Ogg) was recorded back in 2011 for the Spunjet release ‘The collective Source’.

25. Hogehda (Mp3 / Ogg) was recorded in 2014 with the Spunjet Crew which also includes source files from the late ‘Onica’.

26. Echo Order (Mp3 / Ogg) was created by Marlon Cairenius by reworking and building upon the source stems of ‘With Echo’ by R.h.oZ. This recording was made for a 2008 ‘Scalpel Stitch’ AKA ‘Soundscape Fusion’ release from the mode series called the Experiment.

27. Reverberate (Mp3 / Ogg) was created by R.h.oZ by reworking and building upon the source stems of ‘Echo Order’ by Marlon Cairenius. This recording was made for a 2008 ‘Scalpel Stitch’ AKA ‘Soundscape Fusion’ release from the mode series called the Experiment.

28. Ooohhh! (Mp3 / Ogg) was created by Marlon Cairenius by reworking and building upon the source stems of ‘Reverberate’ by R.h.oZ. This recording was made for a 2008 ‘Scalpel Stitch’ AKA ‘Soundscape Fusion’ release from the mode series called the Experiment.

29. It’s Windy Out There! (Mp3 / Ogg) was created by R.h.oZ by reworking and building upon the source stems of ‘Ooohhh!’ by Marlon Cairenius. This recording was made for a 2008 ‘Scalpel Stitch’ AKA ‘Soundscape Fusion’ release from the mode series called the Experiment.

30. Morning At The Cottage (Mp3 / Ogg) was recorded back in 2006 and is a wonderful addition to this compilation.

31. Pain Killers (Mp3 / Ogg) was taken from an Untitled 2008 release. I love this one…

32. It Knows (Mp3 / Ogg) was taken from Marlon’s 2003 album ‘Perspective’ and it was originally called ‘Know’.

33. I’m Late (Mp3 / Ogg) sounds good with cake.

34. They Are Cold (so cold) (Mp3 / Ogg) is an R.h.oZ collaboration that was previously released on ‘Forty-two’. This track was played through a Flanger pedal with crazy echoes.

35. White Noise (Mp3 / Ogg) is the 6th track on Marlon’s 2021 Ep ‘In Spirit’. This version was created using a boombox and Goldwave with the help of R.h.oZ.

36. Smooth Reposition (Mp3 / Ogg) has it’s roots in Marlon’s 2009 release of ‘Piano & Bass’ and with Spunjet’s SPU-12: Smooth release which included all the tracks from ‘Piano & Bass’, including all the stems and a 4th track. ‘Smooth Reposition’ continues where ‘Smooth Transition’ from the ‘In Spirit’ Ep left off.

37. Tires of (Mp3 / Ogg) was taken from the ‘Content Overload’ release.

38. Shave God (Mp3 / Ogg) was taken from the ‘Content Overload’ release.

39. Dream tunnel (Mp3 / Ogg) was taken from the ‘Content Overload’ release.

40. Add Venture (Mp3 / Ogg) was taken from the 2006 ‘Badly Miss-guided’ release.

41. Adada (Mp3 / Ogg) is a fun track from the past.

42. Tease Thieves (Mp3 / Ogg) is one of my favorites by Marlon.

43. The Unknown Nothing (Mp3 / Ogg) was recorded back in 2006 and is a wonderful addition to this compilation.

After two false starts its now done…

Thank you for listening…
